Background
Shad's wife and business partner, Janelle, refers to him as a serial entrepreneur and renaissance man. His background in various industries, combined with his wide range of interests and talent for creating new products, innovations, and improved methods, led to the launch of several corporations, including the non-profit, Novitas Foundation*.
Service to others is what drives Shad and is evident in everything he does. His corporations assist clients with solutions to meet their needs, and through corporate sponsorships of Novitas Foundation* help give Shad the opportunity to follow his passion for meeting the needs of people around the world.
Shad released his new book, Claire's Dad: How I Earned the Title (available in paperback and Kindle e-Book) for publication in February 2018. In Claire's Dad, Shad takes the reader through 20 years of life-experience and commentary; exploring and demonstrating how a father can grow and nurture his relationship with his daughter – no matter her age. (A portion of Claire's Dad book sales, speaking engagements, and promotional events are donated to Novitas Foundation*.)
A self-proclaimed foodie, Shad loves cooking food of all kinds and sharing food with others. (Bulgogi marinaded oxtail or avocado wood smoked brisket, anyone?) Shad also enjoys spending time with his family, books, music, exploring, history, world culture, and being in the great outdoors. Oh, and of course, excellent lighting.

A Little Q&A Session with Shad
What's your biggest goal? Change the world! And if I fail, I want to have made a difference – especially for children.
What are you doing to make change in the world? Finding better ways to help people in need through Novitas Foundation.
If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why? I would be able to speak and understand any language. As someone who enjoys experiencing and learning about other cultures, having the ability to communicate in every language would be incredible.
What's your favorite holiday? Thanksgiving. I love preparing and cooking our Thanksgiving meal, then enjoying the food with family and friends. I also love what the day represents – expressing thankfulness.
What's the best compliment you have ever received? Some years ago, I cooked a meal for friends visiting from out of state. They told me it was the best meal they had ever eaten. These friends have traveled a lot and eaten at a number of fine restaurants so it was quite a compliment. You can compliment me about anything else and it's nice, but if you tell me you love my food.... Well, that's the ultimate!
What movies do you enjoy watching again and again? Master and Commander, Inception, The Count of Monte Cristo, Chef, Burnt, and The Hundred-Foot Journey.
Cake or pie? Pie... unless it's a wickedly good carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.
Rock, paper, or scissors? Rock. Think David versus Goliath.
